usr/share/doc/lirc/lirc.txtLIRC documentation
==================
This is an early version of the eisfair LIRC package. Many helpful
scripts are not yet implemented, so you have to do a lot manually.
First you should copy a valid config file for your remote to /etc/lircd.conf
You can either use /usr/bin/irrecord or download a matching file from
http://lirc.sourceforge.net/remotes/
This version only works with serial receivers. The necessary devices are
created, lirc daemon is started. A standard config menu is available.
Please read also the official LIRC documentation:
http://www.lirc.org/html/index.html
You will find help there how to learn your remote control or execute special
instructions while pressing a button (irexec). Some of these features should
be available over eisfair setup menu in the future (christmas ;-) )
Requirements:
-------------
You need a recent eisfair base package and driver modules corresponding
to your kernel. Driver modules are shipped with another package
called lirc_modules.
Configuration:
--------------
START_LIRC
Activates LIRC in general. That means, LIRC will be started at boot time.
LIRC_DRIVER
Wants the name of the driver which fits your hardware. For now only serial
receivers are supported. So the possible options here are 'none' or
'serial'. If you got another receiver and need another driver, please
contact me: post@lespocky.de
LIRC_DRIVER_OPTION
Contains options for driver specified in LIRC_DRIVER.
Options for special drivers:
'none': no options ;-)
'serial': the device where your receiver is connected to is needed
here. a possible devices are /dev/ttyS0 for COM1,
/dev/ttyS1 for COM2 and so on
ToDo:
-----
- import config file for remotes or make a new one by learn your own remote
- more receivers
- irexec as daemon and configurable over lirc config file
- documentation according to eisfair standards (german, english, html, pdf...)
